ABOUT TTCF

The Tamworth Town Centre Forum is a regular, informal meeting of leaders from local businesses, charities, community and voluntary groups based within Tamworth's historic centre.

The TTCF was established in late 2023 in response to an obvious need to bring people together to discuss common issues, new ideas and ways in which key stakeholders can help each other to flourish.

A joint initiative of St. Editha's Church and the Tamworth and District Civic Society, we wanted to continue, as we have for over 1000 years, to be the beating heart of the town centre, and to facilitate better, broader, more creative partnerships in Tamworth with diverse partners from across the town. For TDCS, the TTCF offers a key vehicle in improving the town centre in line with its civic movement objectives.

The TTCF operates as an independent, grassroots voice for Tamworth Town Centre. It is a key interface between local businesses, Tamworth Borough Council, the Police and Fire services, and national government. We believe that good communication, shared goals, mutual understanding and better accountability can help us to improve, renew and enhance the existing town centre offering.

A not-for-profit enterprise, the Forum represents about 40 businesses/organisations and meets approximately 4 times a year. Meetings tend to be focussed around key themes (policing, heritage, events etc) and we are pleased to welcome influential guest speakers as well as share in refreshments and networking together.

Although only established for a short time, the TTCF has already made a significant impact in the town, not least during the fantastic Athelstan 1100 celebrations across Tamworth in Summer 2024, as well as late night opening events. New collaborative partnerships facilitated by the Forum continue to go from strength to strength.

Membership of the Forum is open to any business, charity or community group within Tamworth town centre, but in order to ensure a good balance between various sectors, Forum meetings are by invitation only.
We meet in the historic guild chapel of St. George, within St. Editha's Church - which carries on an incredible historic tradition: the town's merchants have been meeting in that space for at least 500 years. If you would like an invitation to the next Forum meeting, please get in touch and we would be pleased to hear from you.

In the meantime this comes with every good wish from myself and the Forum co-chair, Dr. David Biggs.
